[Bobby's outside, holding the journal facing towards him with one hand and tossing a snowball with the other.]
I promise this is not my fault! I had absolutely nothing to do with this.
[Not that anyone except for maybe two people would have any reason to suspect him. But he's too used to having to give a disclaimer every time snow comes when it probably shouldn't have.]
But since it is here and awesome, I am totally taking advantage of it.
Does anyone like ice skating? Someone go skating with me, guys!
[There's a pause as he throws the snowball high up into the air and lets it fall back to the ground.]
Or if we can get enough people, I am all in for a game of snow capture the flag.
[It is SNOWING, and Bobby is the happiest mutant ever right now. Reply here or come bug him outside? He's wandering around all over, so if it's some place outside, feel free to run into him there.]

[He frowns a bit when she sets down the rose and starts rubbing her hands. Oh. Right. Generally carrying around pieces of ice in the snow will make people colder. He pauses briefly to make sure his body temperature is at normal human level warmth, then reached out to take her hands between his, rubbing warmth into them.]
Sorry. I sometimes forget other people actually have problems with the cold.
[Commentlog] I keep wondering when one of them is going to actually say the word mutant XD
[...That...is surprising but incredibly nice and Raven is in no way ever going to turn that down. Her cheeks redden, though it's hard to tell if it's from her new friends actions or the cold air..]
Yeah, we don't all happen to be part ice man, you know. [She pauses.]
Thanks.
[Commentlog] XD
Which is tragic, really. No one would ever need coats again.
[He pauses as well.]
You're welcome.
[And then he looks away, letting go of her hands and clearing his throat slightly.]
It should only take me a second to do the skates.
[Bobby focuses on his own first, drawing his hand across his boots and shaping an ice blade onto the bottom of both. Then he turns to her, holding out a hand to do the same for her.]
[Commentlog]
She drops her hands into her lap as she sticks her boot out.]
Not everyone is special like you.
[She clears her throat.]
Like...us.
[Commentlog]
He's about to make a joke about being special, but stops when she clears her throat. He lights up a bit when she says 'us.']
Yeah? You've got special abilities, too?
[Okay, this is just even more awesome.]
[Commentlog]
Yeah. Wanna...wanna see?
[She holds her other foot out for him, eyes twinkling a little bit. Okay, so maybe she wants to show off to someone who will appreciate it.]
[Commentlog]
Definitely! It's totally your turn to show off.
[Commentlog]
I can't make pretty ice flowers.
[Shame, really.]
But, I can do this...
[And in the blink of an eye, Bobby will be faced with an exact duplicate...of himself!]
Neat, right?
[Please say it's neat, don't call her a freak, please please please...]
[Commentlog]
It wouldn't really be showing off much if you could, anyway, since I've seen it a lot.
[And then his eyes widen as he's suddenly staring at himself. Which is entirely unexpected, and for a moment he just blinks in surprise. But then he grins widely, clearly impressed.]
Oh my god, that is wicked cool. You're a shape-shifter!
[He's only ever known of one actual shape-shifter in his world. Well. Technically knew of one, since she can't do it anymore. And there's really no comparison; Raven is so much more awesome.]
[Commentlog]
Yeah? You really think so?
[It takes a moment - and effort, she finds - to shift again and she's back to normal.]
I...yeah. I am!
[Commentlog]
Of course I do! It's an amazing power.
[He watches her change back, obviously intrigued.]
That is so cool. How awesome is it that there seems to be a lot of people like us here?
[And extra awesome that Raven is one of them. Not that he would have had anything against her if she were human, or anything. It's just - nice.]
[Commentlog]
Yeah, it’s really kind of great. [She grins at him, obviously in a much better mood.]
Back home, I kind of have to hide. [And, well…she still IS hiding, but that’s neither here nor there, right? She only wished that she didn’t have to expend effort into looking blonde and pink skinned all the time. It simply wasn’t fair and she was…enormously jealous of the other normal looking mutants that got amazing powers but no unnatural base forms.
Because seriously? Who would ever want to be with a blue freak?]
[Commentlog]
It's awesomely great.
[And then his smile slips the smallest bit.]
Oh. That - really sucks. We shouldn't have to hide.
[He pauses.]
It's like that a little in my world, too. I mean, people know about us, and not everyone hides, but some people find it easier to. Which, yeah, I understand. It's not like I go broadcasting it everywhere back home. I just wish we could.
But apparently it's like that on a lot of worlds. I know another girl who lives in a world where she has to hide, too, because most people don't know about them.
[Commentlog]
[She looks down at the tips of her boots, avoiding his eyes.]
Some of us have to hide all the time - because we look so different. [She was poking at dangerous ground, here. Wasn't she? But she liked Bobby - he got it, shouldn't she show him the real her?
No. No way. No.]
Not many people know about us, either. [Not yet anyway.] That's too bad.
[Commentlog]
It's like that for some of my friends back home. It sucks. Treating people different just because of the way they look - ugh. I don't get it. You'd think people would have learned.
[Of course, he's completely oblivious to the fact that she's not just talking about people she knows, like he is.]
Well. At least in my world, people are learning. Even if they are doing it pretty slowly.
[But they do have a mutant ambassador, so that's a plus. Then he grimaces slightly and stands, offering her a hand up.]
Sorry. I didn't mean to turn fun ice skating time into 'Bobby rants about things' time.
[Commentlog]
Yeah, it definitely sucks. But I'm glad that in your world people are learning.
[At home, they don't even know she exists yet.
She holds her hands up to him and pulls herself up, making sure she's steady before letting go.]
It's okay - I mean, hey, you found out that I'm even more awesome than you, right? [The twinkle in her eye is back as she teases, letting go of him to skate out a little ways.]
[Commentlog]
It's something, at least.
[Bobby smiles as she takes his hands, and is definitely not at all opposed to her holding on to them longer to steady herself. Then he laughs at her comment, delighted.]
I would protest that, but I just don't think I can. But hey, if I had to be out-awesomed by someone, I'm glad it was you.
[Commentlog]
And that's obviously me, right? I mean, I can take any--woops--
[Ice, yes, Raven - it is slippery. Do watch out. She flails a little before she catches her balance, laughing.]
[Commentlog]
[He skates closer to her at her flail, ready to catch her if she loses her balance, but she seems all right, so he laughs as well.]
You even slip awesomely.
[He's just going to. Skate right next to her now, though. Just in case.]
[Commentlog]
I know, I'm a creature of elegance, right?
[Obviously, Raven.
Still, she's not too bad, though she hasn't done this in a while so she's not too great.]
[Commentlog]
On and off the ice.
[He grins at her.]
Did you have cold winters where you're from, or are you another one of those poor people who never got snow?
[Commentlog]
No, we definitely had snow. I grew up in Westchester, New York. Heard of it? It used to get pretty cold there.
[Definitely casually holding his arm.]
[Commentlog]
Heard of it? Yeah! I live there now, actually. How cool is that? You're the second person I've met from New York, and you're even in the same city as me!
[Which didn't mean they were from the same world; Chloe hadn't been. But it was still cool.
And yeah, he's not protesting the arm holding at all. He shifts slightly, reaching over to equally casually place his hand over hers.]
[Commentlog]
Really? [She blinks at him, kind of astonished but really distracted by the fact that he put his hand over hers.]
That’s pretty groovy, actually – maybe we’ve like, run into each other and never even knew it. [Of course, that’s impossible because she’s from the sixties, but…whatever.]
I even bet –
[Whatever she was going to say was COMPLETELY lost, however, because her footing, it is gone and she’s hitting the ice now and you might just be going down with her, Bobby.]
[Commentlog]
The best he can do is shift, putting himself between her and the ice, so that, hopefully, she land on top of him instead of smacking into the ice itself.]
