[Bobby's outside, holding the journal facing towards him with one hand and tossing a snowball with the other.]

I promise this is not my fault! I had absolutely nothing to do with this.

[Not that anyone except for maybe two people would have any reason to suspect him. But he's too used to having to give a disclaimer every time snow comes when it probably shouldn't have.]

But since it is here and awesome, I am totally taking advantage of it.

Does anyone like ice skating? Someone go skating with me, guys!

[There's a pause as he throws the snowball high up into the air and lets it fall back to the ground.]

Or if we can get enough people, I am all in for a game of snow capture the flag.

[It is SNOWING, and Bobby is the happiest mutant ever right now. Reply here or come bug him outside? He's wandering around all over, so if it's some place outside, feel free to run into him there.]

[Inhaling another deep breath of air, Chloe attempts to do just that. She relaxes the muscles in her legs and back as she exhales, standing a little taller and moving around a bit more easily.]

[He keeps holding her hands, watching her closely and smiling when she starts to relax.]

There we go. You'll pick it back up in no time!

[Grinning widely, Chloe relaxes all the more and begins taking slightly longer strides, still careful not to go to fast, but definitely picking up a small bit of speed.]

So what else do you do in your spare time? And does it always involve ice? [She's teasing, now, but also curious.]

[They settle into a rhythm, and he grins at her, laughing at her question.]

I'm not going to lie, a lot of it does involve ice.

I teach, actually. I'm on the staff of the school I used to go to, and I help the students learn to use their powers. And I teach math. I train my own powers, usually with the other staff there.

And, you know, usual stuff. Watch movies, play sports, play video games.

[She laughs.]

I knew it!

[She did not know the teaching bit, and her brows lift in surprise. Then she frowns and eyes him suspiciously at math.]

Teaching sounds amazing. Not so sure about the math bit, though. ...You enjoy physics, don't you? [Great. Another genius. She'd never get away from such awful subject lovers.]

[She grins at that.] The usual stuff. [Now that she can understand.]

[He grins.]

Yeah, I don't do a very good job at hiding my love of ice.

[And then wrinkles his nose a bit at physics.]

Enjoy it? No. It's not as bad as English, but I can't say I ever sat in a physics class and went 'hey, this is fun!' I like the practical side of math. I'm an accounting guy.

[Chloe glances up at him, there, expression oddly solemn.]

Why hide it? You're among friends, here.

[Chloe begins to smile. Finally! Someone who--then her jaw drops open and her eyes widen and she gasps.]

Oh, no. You did not just knock English! [This time Chloe makes a face.] You have your math, I'll have my English. We'll be set.

[And Derek can have his Physics. So long as he doesn't try to tell her how amazing and interesting it is and bore her with it. Yep, next time she and Derek talk about physics she's distracting him in some way. She had a few ideas.]

[He chuckles at her solemn expression.]

It was a joke. I've not planning on hiding at all. I doubt I could for very long, anyway. I'm too used to using my powers on a daily basis.

[He laughs again.]

You sound like my old roommate. English was his thing.

Deal. I think math is fun, you think English is fun, and we both agree that physics is boring.

[Pursing her lips together in an odd smile, Chloe rolls her eyes and darts forward in two quick movement, releasing Bobby's hands to place her hands on his shoulders and push him for said 'joke.']

Ha ha. Very funny.

[Still, she is grinning in return.]

So boring.

[Chloe laughs delightedly at that. Now if only she could get Bobby to mention that to Derek! ...On second thought, how about not. He'd only be twice as convinced to change both their minds...]

[He lets out an exaggerated 'oof,' sliding back a bit away from her on the ice after the push, and grins at her.]

Didn't anyone tell you? I'm the funny guy.

[Another laughed snort and roll of Chloe's eyes.]

Yep. You definitely remind me of Simon.

[Still. At least she's smiling.]

[He laughs lightly, tone teasing.]

You keep comparing me to this Simon guy, and I'm going to get a complex.

[Chloe laughs loudly at that, rolling her eyes skyward.]

I doubt that.

[She purses her lips, and smiles.]

Okay. No more Simon parallels. [Chloe leans in as if to whisper a secret.] He's more artistically talented than you, anyway.

[Gaze considering, she can't help but ask.] Is there anyone who is like me from where you're from?

[And there's a thoroughly amused laugh there.]

Am I going to have to make more ice sculptures for you in order to prove my talent?

[Her question got a slightly soft smile.]

Yeah, actually. You remind me of my friend Kitty sometimes.

[Chloe laughs too, tilting her head as if considering.]

Maybe you will.

[Her tone and grin weren't serious, however.]

Kitty? Huh. Well, looks like you won't have to worry about being the only one to develop a complex, then.

[She grins widely.]

I so will. Just you watch. Sculpting is my thing.

[And there's actually a pretty high chance that he will. Sculptures are a fun way to practice the precision of his abilities, and he tends to just start making things when he's bored.]

Nah. I'll totally keep my comparisons to a minimum.

[If he was being completely honest, there's been times she reminded him of Rogue, too - mainly with her difficulty over her power. But that line of thought is more painful than he'd like, so he doesn't mention it.]

[Chloe grins, shaking her head in humorous disbelief.]

Are you very competitive, then?

[And she laughs at that, reaching forward to squeeze Bobby's arm.]

And I'll thank you for that, though I don't mind learning about your friends. Especially if they went to the school you spoke of.

[Which reminds her...]

So... what are some of the mutant abilities of your world? [She was beyond curious.]

[He laughs slightly.]

Not usually, but I can be. And most of my friends went to the school.

[All of his friends did, actually, whether or not they were still there. His next comment is teasing.]

If you can think of a power, it wouldn't surprise me if a mutant somewhere in my world had it. But for ones I'm more familiar with? Turning intangible to phase through solid objects, turning to organic steel, controlling the weather, telepathy, telekinesis, shape shifting, controlling fire.

So many powers... It sounds like the half-demons of my world.

[Then she smiles.]

I have a friend with the power of telekinesis. [Then her humor fades a little, and she shifts a bit.] She...died, though. She's kind of... turned into her own version of a poltergeist, now. [And she grins warmly. She needs to try to summon Liz again soon.]

And those're just the ones that I can explain in a few words.

[He spends a moment trying to decide if 'half-demon' conveys a better or worse impression than 'mutant,' and ultimately decides they're about equal.

His smile slips when she says her friend died, but returns hesitantly at the last part.]

That means you can still see her and talk to her and stuff, right?

[She chuckles at that.] So you don't have any specific sounding words for different types? The mutant that can burn or manipulate fire could be an Exhaustio. That's probably what he or she would be in my world, anyway.

[A small smile: sad, but used to Liz being dead, rather than alive. Even if Liz had led a short life.]

I can. Only I can hear and see her, but the others know she's there. They talk to her through me. Or sometimes she'll use her ability to let them know she's there. I wouldn't be surprised if she writes notes to Tori, now that she's used a paper and pen to...

[She trails off, an odd smile on her face.]

Sorry. It's a long story. She's helped us on many occasions, though. She's a good friend.

No, we don't. Not really, anyway, except the general stuff like telekinesis, pyrokinesis, hydrokinesis, that sort of thing.

An exhaustio, huh? He probably would've like getting his own special class.

[Well. He might've once. It's not like Bobby can really be the judge of what John'd like anymore.

And that thought is going nowhere good, so he derails it and hops on the train of thought that leads back to Chloe's poltergeist.]

It's okay. It sounds like it'd be one. I'm sorry about your friend, but I'm glad she's still around for you. I guess it could be kind of cool, being a poltergeist.

[She laughs softy at that. Maybe he was like Rae, then. She seemed pretty excited to get her own class, too.]

It has its ups and downs. [Slightly forced smile, here.] Liz is a pretty cheerful girl, though, so she takes it pretty well. [Most of the time.]

That's - pretty awesome. She sounds really great.

[Bobby's not sure how well he'd take it, being a poltergeist. Especially if she was Chloe's age when she died.]

She's braver than me, anyway.
