[Bobby's outside, holding the journal facing towards him with one hand and tossing a snowball with the other.]
I promise this is not my fault! I had absolutely nothing to do with this.
[Not that anyone except for maybe two people would have any reason to suspect him. But he's too used to having to give a disclaimer every time snow comes when it probably shouldn't have.]
But since it is here and awesome, I am totally taking advantage of it.
Does anyone like ice skating? Someone go skating with me, guys!
[There's a pause as he throws the snowball high up into the air and lets it fall back to the ground.]
Or if we can get enough people, I am all in for a game of snow capture the flag.
[It is SNOWING, and Bobby is the happiest mutant ever right now. Reply here or come bug him outside? He's wandering around all over, so if it's some place outside, feel free to run into him there.]

I should have known this is the first place you would go.
[She hollers out over the lake to him, looking down warily at the ice, taking a deep breath before stepping onto the frozen lake and trying out a few shuffle steps in her shoes. Hey--not so bad.]
no subject
Apparently I'm a little predictable! Though I did build a few snowmen first.
Enjoying the snow?
no subject
Snowmen first? With button noses? Be careful--you never know with this place, you might actually bring one to life.
[She grins, plainly joking around.]
I am. Almost feels like home.
no subject
Nah. The place doesn't need to, I could do that myself!
...If by life you mean make it move around. But it counts.
[Not even the thought that the Keep actually would do that can bring him down. Living snowmen? Bring it on! Today is a day of snow and awesomeness.]
I know what you mean. It's feeling like that for me, too.

[Chloe shuffles forward awkwardly on the ice, trying to do a makeshift ice skating impression.]
So, do you want to skate, then? All we need are lights and it'll be just like New York.
no subject
[He gives a brief headshake, then smiles.]
But! Skating, I can do! Do you want skates, or are you going to try the shoe attempt and see if you can get it to work?
[His tone is teasing.]
no subject
Just because we don't all have the 'cool' power--literally--and ability to make 'ice' skates does not mean I am an inept supernatural. We can't all be born with awesome abilities.
[She's grinning now.]
I don't know. I think my abilities could take yours. Feel free to prove me wrong, though.
[And she's grinning, moving to sit on the ice and point to a lifted shoe.]
no subject
Weell. I don't know. That might be a challenge. But!
Anything you can do, I can do better.
[It's possible there's the tiniest hint of a tune along with those words, as he leans down to fix ice blades onto the soles of her shoes and then offers hers a hand up.]
no subject
I-I'm actually n-not very good at i-i-ice skating...
[Chloe's staring down at the ice as she admits this.]
no subject
If I'd known that, I wouldn't have let go.
[His tone is light, gentle teasing, and he takes her hands again.]
I can help you get your balance, if you want?
no subject
Maybe I should have mentioned I've only ice skated a small handful of times in the past. Very small. Who in their right mind would want to walk around in their sneakers, though?
[Now that she's standing up, Chloe's grip is fairly tight on Bobby's hands, feeling as though she might fall over backwards if she lets go. Her cheeks redden a bit at how little she actually remembers of ice skating.]
Did I mention I had been fairly young, too?
no subject
No, I think you left all of that out. But hey, at least you've been! You're one step up on a lot of people.
[And yeah, he can feel that tight grip. He smiles again.]
Don't worry. I won't let you fall.
no subject
There is that.
[Smiling up at him, Chloe forces her grip to loosen. She doesn't want to appear more needy and inept than she was, after all. She could do this.]
Okay...
[She skates forward slowly on slightly wobbly knees, muscles tensed and pinching from concentration.]
no subject
Relax, Chlo, you'll be fine. Don't concentrate so much, just find a balance that seems natural.
no subject
no subject
There we go. You'll pick it back up in no time!
no subject
So what else do you do in your spare time? And does it always involve ice? [She's teasing, now, but also curious.]
no subject
I'm not going to lie, a lot of it does involve ice.
I teach, actually. I'm on the staff of the school I used to go to, and I help the students learn to use their powers. And I teach math. I train my own powers, usually with the other staff there.
And, you know, usual stuff. Watch movies, play sports, play video games.
no subject
I knew it!
[She did not know the teaching bit, and her brows lift in surprise. Then she frowns and eyes him suspiciously at math.]
Teaching sounds amazing. Not so sure about the math bit, though. ...You enjoy physics, don't you? [Great. Another genius. She'd never get away from such awful subject lovers.]
[She grins at that.] The usual stuff. [Now that she can understand.]
no subject
Yeah, I don't do a very good job at hiding my love of ice.
[And then wrinkles his nose a bit at physics.]
Enjoy it? No. It's not as bad as English, but I can't say I ever sat in a physics class and went 'hey, this is fun!' I like the practical side of math. I'm an accounting guy.
no subject
Why hide it? You're among friends, here.
[Chloe begins to smile. Finally! Someone who--then her jaw drops open and her eyes widen and she gasps.]
Oh, no. You did not just knock English! [This time Chloe makes a face.] You have your math, I'll have my English. We'll be set.
[And Derek can have his Physics. So long as he doesn't try to tell her how amazing and interesting it is and bore her with it. Yep, next time she and Derek talk about physics she's distracting him in some way. She had a few ideas.]
no subject
It was a joke. I've not planning on hiding at all. I doubt I could for very long, anyway. I'm too used to using my powers on a daily basis.
[He laughs again.]
You sound like my old roommate. English was his thing.
Deal. I think math is fun, you think English is fun, and we both agree that physics is boring.
no subject
Ha ha. Very funny.
[Still, she is grinning in return.]
So boring.
[Chloe laughs delightedly at that. Now if only she could get Bobby to mention that to Derek! ...On second thought, how about not. He'd only be twice as convinced to change both their minds...]
no subject
Didn't anyone tell you? I'm the funny guy.
no subject
Yep. You definitely remind me of Simon.
[Still. At least she's smiling.]
