[Bobby's outside, holding the journal facing towards him with one hand and tossing a snowball with the other.]

I promise this is not my fault! I had absolutely nothing to do with this.

[Not that anyone except for maybe two people would have any reason to suspect him. But he's too used to having to give a disclaimer every time snow comes when it probably shouldn't have.]

But since it is here and awesome, I am totally taking advantage of it.

Does anyone like ice skating? Someone go skating with me, guys!

[There's a pause as he throws the snowball high up into the air and lets it fall back to the ground.]

Or if we can get enough people, I am all in for a game of snow capture the flag.

[It is SNOWING, and Bobby is the happiest mutant ever right now. Reply here or come bug him outside? He's wandering around all over, so if it's some place outside, feel free to run into him there.]

[It is definitely someone on the lake! Bobby's skating cheerfully, if a little aimlessly, and when his next direction change causes him to spot someone standing on the edge of the shore, he skates over.]

Hey! Looking to go ice skating, too?

Ice skating? *Hn...* Like what you're doing?

*It sure seemed rather pointless.*

Yup. You've never been, then?

[There's a pause.]

Because it's fun?

No. We don't have weather like this where I come from.

*The sun was generally too strong to let anything stay frozen for long.
He crosses his arms.*

It doesn't look like fun, it looks like you're just randomly running around. How is that fun?

Huh. You're like the third person I've heard that from.

[He laughs.]

Skating is different than running. Requires different movements. And most people do tricks and stuff when they skate. Or play hockey.

Well you're going to get that here with people from other worlds.

Okay then. Do a trick.

So I've noticed.

Sure, why not?

[He skates backwards, away from the edge a bit, then picks up some speed before doing an axel jump. He doesn't try for a double axel, but lands neatly after the single spin and skates back, then gives a bit of a shrug.]

I'm a better hockey player than I am a figure skater, though.

So you can jump around, I still fail to see the appeal.

What's hockey?

Hey, don't knock it until you've tried it. I guess it's not for everyone, though.

[He shrugs again.]

Uh. It's a game people play on the ice. You have two teams, and each team has a goal. All of the players have sticks, and the goal is to skate and use your stick to get a puck into the other team's goal without letting them get the puck into your team's goal.

*Sollux raises an eyebrow.*

That's it? You humans have boring games. No wonder you think skating around is fun.

It's a lot more fun if you actually play it. Or watch it, too.

[He's curious now, though.]

What kind of games do you play?

Better games than that.

*Usually more violent ones. That's how trolls roll.*

...not here, though, the games here all suck.

[...Bobby probably should have mentioned that some people are drawn to hockey because of its violence, then. But he just raises an eyebrow, amused.]

You've tried all of them?

*That'd probably get him interested in it some, yeah.*

All the ones in the library *or the video games, anyway*, at least. I doubt anything good is hiding anywhere else, especially since they don't like if we fight each other.

[He frowns, distracted by that last bit.]

Really? Even if it's a mutually agreed upon fight? Or a game that just happens to sometimes be violent?

Well...I don't know. I just know the last time people got caught fighting they got put on trial.

[Bobby makes a face.]

Great. Guess this means I'll have to be careful about sparring or organizing hockey matches.

They actually put people on trial, here?

Maybe if you find a staff member to ask about it first, but I haven't bothered.

*Wait, hockey has fighting? Hm.*

Yeah, they usually just skip to the show, though.

I'll remember that. Thanks.

[He pauses.]

Do I even want to ask what you mean by show?

Oh, right, everybody else does it weirdly...

*Sollux mumbles a bit, then shakes his head.*

The first time they had the people they caught fighting fight to the death. The second trial they just beat people.

[He's just going to take a moment to process that for a moment.]

Yeah, that sounds like an awesome trial. Right, definitely checking with staff before I do anything that could resemble fighting.

*Sollux shrugs.*

It wasn't as entertaining as you'd think it'd be.

*The second one largely because he was one of the people being punished, really.*

Isabel thinks she's in charge, you probably want to try to ask her.

[He gives a wry chuckle. Not that he thought it would be very entertaining in the first place, but yeah. He bets.]

I can imagine.

Oh, good, she sounds fun. I'll ask, though. Better than getting a trial just for messing around.

I don't know if it'd do any good, though, they never bothered to tell us the rules before anyone broke them.

Oh, that's a great way to run things.

[He rolls his eyes, shaking his head.]

So far the best part about this place is the snow. Thanks for the warning, though.
